Kibwana, who spoke on Wednesday, said that Jubilee should forget about Ukambani votes, adding that the electorate is behind National Super Alliance (NASA) under the leadership of Former Prime minister Raila Amolo Odinga.

"It is very hard campaigning for Jubilee in this region because they have done nothing for our people. I don't know how Nyenze arrived at that. I have traversed the region and listened to the people...I have no doubt they support Kalonzo and NASA,“ he said as quoted by Star.

The county boss, who enjoys close ties with Kalonzo, also rubbished claims that Jubilee was almost taking over Ukambani politics ahead of the August general elections. He said that his presence in the region is among the reasons Jubilee has failed to convince votes to back President Uhuru’s re-election.

"The Deputy President (William Ruto) was saying Jubilee had almost succeeded in wooing Ukambani by poaching a majority of Wiper leaders...but my presence in Wiper and subsequently NASA has put them in an awkward position," he added. The governor is defending his seat on Wiper.
