Political analyst Dismas Mokua has warned a section of leaders drawn from the Jubilee side of the political divide against downplaying Mombasa county chief Hassan Joho's presidential candidature for the 2022 general elections.
Speaking on KTN News Tuesday,Mokua said that all indications show that the coastal leader has the support of the opposition leader Raila Odinga who also has a great influence in the nation's political arena a factor that could make him one of the front runners and maybe even the winner in the race.
''Odinga was present when Joho officially announced his bid and by the look of things he is in support of the same and this is a major boost for Joho as Odinga is a well known kingmaker,'' said Mokua.
His comments were echoed by fellow panelist and analyst Hezbon Owilla who said that Odinga's mentorship is a major boost for Joho.
''He is ripe to run for President. He has Raila's guide and mentorship and that is just what any other leader needs as Raila is is one of the biggest leaders in the nation and his endorsement is almost a win,'' said Owilla.
Joho who is however yet to announce his running mate is set to battle it out with Deputy President William Ruto should he not drop his plans.
