Mombasa Governor Hassan Ali Joho has been trending on Monday morning after videos and articles crowded the social media over his confrontation with the police who barred him from attending President Uhuru Kenyatta's function at Mtongwe.

Now, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has 'revealed' the reason behind blocking the Mombasa governor from attending the re-launch of Mtongwe ferry.

"Since Joho became the MP of Kisauni the percentage of drug addicts has multiplied four times, the president reserves the right to ensure such people are well-screened through the use of sniffer dogs," he said.

The Gatundu South legislator also stated that Joho, was free to attend Uhuru's event after screening because by that time the event had not even commenced.

Joho had a rough time with the police at Nyali bridge as he sought to attend a re-launch of Mtongwe ferry.
