Jubilee Party’s Mbele Iko Sawa caravan on Tuesday met hostility over an alleged delay in issuing of handouts for youths in a Kakamega rally.
The caravan, led by Gatundu Suth MP Moses Kuria is said to have met a hurdle in Shinyalu market after youth demanded cash handouts from the party’s aspirants.
The delay made the youths chant NASA-affiliated slogans making the situation sour.
Local media reports that Kuria snubbed a Kakamega town rally in favour of another rally in the populous Kakamega County.
During their address at Ikhonyero market, Kuria and his Mbele Iko Sawa brigade expressed confidence that Jubilee party was going to triumph the NASA coalition in August 8 election.
He said: “We have come to Western to campaign for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election and we’re confident he will be re-elected on August 8”.
The vocal first time legislator called on Western voters to support the current regime and be part of the next government since Jubilee was going to win.
According to Kuria, Jubilee was contesting against a person they had beaten in 2013-Raila Odinga.
Also on the Tuesday caravan was Kakamega gubernatorial candidate on Jubilee ticket Mabel Murali.
