An MP allied to the Jubilee coalition has expressed his disappointment with politicians who have filed petitions challenging their loss during the August 8 general elections.
Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri on Tuesday said that such individuals are bitter losers who have refused to accept defeat.
"I am disappointed by some of these poll petitioners. Some of them are sure they lost fairly and they don't have votes yet they still insist on challenging the outcomes of the last elections. It is uncalled for and they should learn to accept the outcome of a poll," he said.
The legislator who is serving his is second term also hit out at a section of lawyers whom he accused of inspiring false hopes on the petitioners even in the face of an outright dismissal of their cases.
A number of petitions were filed before various courts across the country by losers in the last election who felt shortchanged.
However, quite a number of them have since been dismissed by the courts and in their place huge costs in form of compensations imposed upon the petitioners.
Ngunjiri was speaking on Citizen TV.
