Sirisia Member of Parliament John Waluke has urged the former Prime Minister and the opposition Chief Raila Odinga to support Deputy President Willam Ruto presidential bid come 2022.
Speaking in Eldoret town on Saturday the Jubilee MP said Ruto overwhelmingly supported Raila Odinga in 2007 and its time for him to pay back.
“I want to ask my friend and former party leader Raila to rally behind the deputy president William Ruto because he made him the prime minister through his support and it is his time to make Ruto the president,” said the Sirisia Member of Parliament.
Waluke reiterated that despite his support for the recent handshake between the opposition Chief Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta he warned Raila against using it to stop Ruto from becoming the president.
He said the handshake was only meant to cool down the political temperatures that the country faced during the hotly contested presidential elections and not for political realignments.
“As Jubilee member of parliament we will not allow him to change the 2022 succession plan and we will not allow him to dismantle our party as he did to other parties in the recent past,” added the Sirisia Jubilee Member of Parliament.
Waluke called upon Kenyans to maintain peace and avoid being divided by a few self-centered politicians basing on their political and tribal affiliations.
