Calls by a section of Mt Kenya politicians to have Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua join the Jubilee Party is a calculated strategy aimed at ensuring that Central votes are consolidated ahead of the 2017 elections, a political analyst has said.

According to a Kiambu based political analyst, Peter Ngure, Jubilee wants to have the support of Karua and Kenya National Congress (KNC) party leader Peter Kenneth to consolidate all central votes.

The analyst observed that Jubilee is afraid that it is likely to lose some of its Central Kenya votes to opposition if Kurua and Kenneth remain outside.

“Jubilee is afraid of losing votes in some parts of central if Karua works with Cord or as an independent candidate,” he said.

The analyst said that Karua’s links with Cord leader Raila Odinga is causing Jubilee sleepless nights ahead of the 2017polls.

“Jubilee will do everything to have Karua and Kenneth so that they can be sure of all central votes,” said the analyst.

He,however, observed that Karua is unlikely to join the new Jubilee party whose launch has been slated for next month.

“I don’t see Karua join Uhuru’s party, she will work with Cord or independently,” he said.

The analyst, however, observed Kenneth is likely to be wooed by the new Jubilee party.

A section of Mt Kenya politicians on Thursday asked Karua and Kenneth to join the new JP.

On Friday, Karua said that he will not be forced or coerced to cross over to the new Jubilee party.
