Isaac Mwaura (Jubilee, Nominated) said on Saturday the only two people who can unite the country that was sharply divided after a divisive election are Uhuru and his Deputy William Ruto.

He said the 'famous handshake' did not begin with Uhuru and Raila in March but started way back in 2012 when Uhuru and Ruto united to seek for the presidency on one platform under the The National Alliance (TNA) party then led by Uhuru and the United Republican Party (URP) under Ruto.

"The handshakes we are seeing and exited about did not begin in March between the president an the opposition leader," Mwaura who unsuccessfully contested for the Ruiru parliamentary seat during the August 8 general election said.

"They began in 2012 when Uhuru and Ruto saw the need to unite the country after the bloody 2007 election. These are the two people who can truly unite Kenyans."

He, however, welcomed Raila decision to work closely with Uhuru for the sake of sharing development ideas to the benefit of the ordinary Kenyan.

Ruto, he said, is a focused leader who deserves to occupy State House.
