Garissa senator Yusuf Haji has asked the local media not to cover NASA press briefings, claiming that the opposition
is using the
media
briefings
to make
malicious
and
reckless
statements.
Senator Haji claims that some NASA leaders are making reckless and malicious statements that pose a threat to the country peace.
Speaking to journalists in Garissa on Monday, Haji asked the media not to give airplay and space to politicians whose agenda is to cause chaos through negative talk.
The senator said that it is time NASA leaders are held accountable for some of the statements they have been making in regards to the protests that hit some parts of the country last weekend.
“It is wrong for politicians to use the media as a channel to air their malicious propaganda and reckless talk,” he said as quoted by the Daily Nation.
Haji asked the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) to be firm and not to tolerate any form of incitement from politicians.
He warned that the country could plunge into chaos if rogue politicians are not tamed.
The senator at the same time urged the police to remain vigilant and ensure security across the country.
He said that the country will return to normalcy if adequate security is assured and propagandists arrested and put behind bars.
