President Kenyatta stated that the party is found on democratic principles and its elections have to be overseen by a serious body.

The underlying reason however is that Jubilee wants to avoid party hopping by those who loose during the nominations and undermine the party's popularity.

This is further stimulated by the fact that they also want all party nominations to be done on the same day.

For quite sometime now, losing candidates in the party primaries have been fond of jumping parties after loosing, claiming they have been rigged out.

This has capitulated in the parties only seen as political vehicles for reelection.

Jubilee aims to drive out this with party membership based on ideologies and party manifesto.

According to National Assembly deputy speaker Joyce Laboso, the nominations will be conducted in a free and fair manner.

“As Jubilee, we want people to go into nominations knowing that the best candidate will win. Gone are the days when a few individuals sit and hand over nomination certificates to individuals in some hotel,” said Laboso.
