A political analyst has hit out at Jubilee point men in the Coast region, terming them ‘political rejects who will not deliver much’.

Danstan Omari on Thursday argued that the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led party will perform worse than it did in the region during the 2013 elections, due to the politicians who have been tasked with wooing voters in the perceived opposition region.Omari further stated that President Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto’s endless trips to the region will not bear much fruit because the message propagated by the party leaders has largely been personality based rather than issue based."Apart from having political rejects lead their vote hunt, the President and his deputy have also turned their coastal trips to insults on key opposition leaders in the area,” said Omari. The analyst also argued that the region’s politicians who dumped the opposition for the ruling party should prepare to go home after Tuesday’s election, adding that decamping made them lose their political clout.Leaders in the region who ditched NASA affiliated parties for Jubilee include; Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya, Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro, Kilifi South MP Mustafa Idd, Lungalunga MP Khatib Mwashetani, Mombasa gubernatorial hopeful Suleiman Shabhal, Mombasa deputy governor Hazel Katana, Likoni MP Masoud Mwahima among others.
