Jubilee Party could score dismally in Ukambani region during the forthcoming general elections, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has said.
Speaking on Thursday, Kibwana observed that unfulfilled pledges by the administration to the region in the run up to the 2013 general elections has made the outfit unattractive to the residents.
“They will not succeed because the people are against Uhuru’s government. The projects they were promised were not implemented,” he said.
“Our people are tired of selfish leaders. They have said they want to speak with one voice and vote for leaders who will honour their pledges," he added.
Kibwana's remarks comes in the backdrop of a spirited campaign by a lobby group named Woni that is spearheading President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election campaign in the region.
The group is led by former Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka's law partner Prof Paul Musili Wambua.
President Kenyatta garnered a paltry 89,064 votes in the region during the 2013 general elections.
