The planned anti-IEBC protests earlier scheduled to be conducted in Kakamega on Monday stalled and did not have the chance to equal what was witnessed in neighbouring Kisumu.

NASA supporters blamed the stalling on lack of commitment from their elected leaders.

According to residents, police began patrolling the streets of Kakamega in the early morning, but no protestor appeared.

Some supporters said they wanted to first see whether Governor Wycliffe Oparanya could organise the protests and lead them from the front.

"We have since confirmed he cannot. We organised last Monday's and Friday's protests and he took the credit. We'll be back on Wednesday," said a supporter as quoted by the Star.
