Former Kibwezi Member of Parliament Kalembe Ndile has condemned the government for inhumanly re-deporting self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general Miguna Miguna.
Ndile says that it was wrong for the police and Immigration officials to treat Miguna like a fugitive on Wednesday night when he was deported to Dubai.
According to the former lawmaker, Miguna was humiliated, an act he says has tarnished the country's image in terms of human rights and rule of law.
Speaking to journalists in Machakos Town on Saturday, Ndile said that the government should have exercised humanity while handling Miguna's deportation.
Ndile who unsuccessfully contested for the Mavoko Parliamentary seat in last year's election asked the government to apologize to Miguna.
"The police and Immigration officials should have used minimal force on Miguna instead of mishandling him in the full glare of cameras," he said.
Ndile said Kenya has soiled her good name by ignoring court orders and infringing on human rights.
The former MP noted that while Miguna erred in refusing to provide his travel documents upon landing at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), his case should have been handled in a rightful manner.
He warned government officials against continued disobedience of court orders saying the country could be sanctioned by the International community if the trend continues.
Miguna Miguna jetted back into the country from Canada on Monday but was denied entry after he refused to produce his travel documents.
He was deported on Wednesday night to Dubai where he is said to be stranded now.
