Kalenjin Council of elders has threatened to withdraw their support from the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta during the forthcoming general elections.
Speaking on Tuesday, the elders warned that Deputy President William Ruto's supremacy battle with Baringo Senator Gideon Moi could cost President Kenyatta the presidency.
They called on the Head of State to tame the DP, failure to which they would withdraw their support for Jubilee.
“We know the two leaders are harbouring ambitions of running for presidency in 2022. But they should shelf the ambitions for now and focus on drumming support for President Uhuru Kenyatta,” the Council of elders' chair Gilbert Kabage said.
They added that the Moi - Ruto feud was unhealthy for the Jubilee Party.
