NASA fifth principal Isaac Ruto has said that Rift Valley will vote for Raila Odinga as they did in 2007.
Speaking during the unveiling of Chama Mashinani aspirants, Ruto dismissed DP Ruto’s claim that the Kalenjins cannot vote for the NASA presidential candidate. The governor outlined what he thinks will make the electorate to shun Jubilee for opposition.
"Kalenjins voted for Odinga in 2007 and there is no problem if we vote for him once again. This round we are going to support him fully. No one should try and convince is further as to why we are supporting him," Ruto said.
Ruto said that the high cost of living is a sufficient reason for Kenyans to vote out Jubilee. The CCM boss wondered how the common citizen will survive if the current situation will persist. He said that for one to live for a day under Jubilee then one needs at least Sh500. Maize flour and sugar prices are the worst affected.
Other leaders present also pointed out lack of development as something that residents should use to divorce Jubilee. They challenged Deputy President William Ruto to show locals the tarmacked roads he talks about.
Attacks on Bomet governor Isaac Ruto were also discussed. CCM aspirants lead by governor Ruto warned DP Ruto against interfering with Bomet County politics.
The two have been involved in supremacy battles that have threatened DP Ruto’s status as the region’s political point man.
