If Kalonzo walked out of the National Super Alliance (NASA) before the election date, Raila’s presidential dream will be as good as dead. Kalonzo has given the Alliance a national outlook as well as contributed to the numbers needed to unseat the current government from power.
Recent opinion polls show that none of the candidates will get the percentage of votes required to lead this nation.
If Uhuru manages to convince Kalonzo to cross to his side after the August election in the event that he wins but he does not meet the required threshold then Raila will automatically forget the presidency.
Uhuru and his Deputy William Ruto will not get tired of approaching Kalonzo to join their camp. Despite the increased rivalry between the two camps, anything can happen in politics.
Several leaders still doubt that Kalonzo will stick with Raila in the event that none of the candidates meets the required votes to take him to the state house.
