The former Vice President has kept mum at a time when the 2022 general election politics seem to be taking shape and is yet to come out clean on his opinion on the ongoing referendum push led by opposition leaders.

Having announced his bid for Presidency in the approaching race, Musyoka is likely to be rearranging his cards ahead of the race and is probably studying the political landscape before deciding on his next move, a step that will better his victory chances.

His silence over opposition leader Raila Odinga's push for the introduction of a 3-wing government is a possible indication that he is determined to proceed with his bid and is keen to not spoil his chances of emerging the winner by taking sides.

With the initiative facing opposition from a section of politicians including Deputy President William Ruto, joining the argument will automatically link him to one of the warring sides, a disadvantage, as he will be seeking the leaders' supporters' votes and cannot afford to pick fights now.

By joining Odinga's side, Musyoka will indicate that he is still allied to the former Prime Minister whom he has since opposed with regards to his truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta, while opposing it will land him in the DP's camp, indicating at their possible unity as Ruto also seeks the post.
