Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has said that his plan to meet retired presidents Daniel Arap Moi and Mwai Kibaki is still on course.
Kalonzo notes that he has communicated to the former Presidents on his plan to meet with them and is awaiting their responses.
The former Vice President says that he intends to meet the two experienced former presidents for political counsel.
The Wiper leader also states he is keen on meeting the two leaders to discuss the current political situation in the country.
Speaking during the conclusion of a two-day Wiper Party National Executive Council retreat in Naivasha on Saturday, the former Vice President also revealed plans to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta's mother, Mama Ngina Kenyatta.
"I have plans to meet retired presidents Moi and Kibaki and also Mama Ngina Kenyatta so that we can discuss the socio-political issues facing the country," he said on Saturday as quoted by a local daily.
Kalonzo stated that his planned meetings have nothing to do with the 2022 succession politics.
He said that as a leader he has a right to visit the retired politicians, adding that it will be for the interest of peace and unity of the country.
Kalonzo said that it is time for Kenyans to unite and end negative ethnicity stating that ethnicity and tribalism are what is ailing the country's development progress.
Kalonzo at the same time said he is ready to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta in uniting the country.
"I fully support their (Uhu-Raila) unity initiative but call on the two ensure that other leaders are fully involved in the whole reconciliation process," he said.
Kalonzo's push to meet with Moi and Kibaki comes weeks after the two veteran leaders met with ODM party leader Raila Odinga.
