Controversial political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi says former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka will after all abandon NASA presidential running mate Raila Odinga in the near future.
For several weeks now, Musyoka has been out of the country reportedly to attend to his ailing wife in Germany.
But Ngunyi says Musyoka’s love for peace will not allow him to engage in the new strategy of boycott and street protests that has been adopted by Odinga to challenge Uhuru Kenyatta’s victory.
“Where is Kalonzo? He brokered peace in South Sudan and I do not expect him to be a war monger. He will eventually betray Odinga,” he said.
South Sudan, the newest nation in Africa, had Musyoka involved in shuttle diplomacy at Khartoum to call for peace during the civil war.
At a press conference recently, Odinga claimed that government forces were taking advantage of Kalonzo’s family woes to create a cabinet post for him.
“We are aware that Jubilee wants to create a position for Kalonzo by taking advantage of his situation. I want to remind them that the plans will not succeed,” he said.
