Opposition chief Raila Odinga is expected to soon announce his list of Cabinet Secretaries, days after being sworn-in as the People's President.

This is in line with his earlier pledge to supporters to fully assume the rather unconstitutional office and make all necessary appointments associated with the post.

However, with the coalition having 4 co-principals, the others being Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his Ford Kenya and ANC counterparts Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi respectively, Odinga is under pressure from his Orange Party insiders to go it alone.

According to Nyando Member of Parliament Jared Okello, the three, having deserted him on the day of his inauguration, do not qualify to take part in the exercise.

According to the lawmaker, they openly shunned the event without any solid excuse terming them as cowards and traitors.

''Abandoning our People's President at such a crucial moment of his enthronement was the epitome of betrayal and cowardice. The other three principals were all in the country and none was indisposed. They all knew about the swearing-in ceremony,'' Okello is quoted by the Star.

He has also advised the former Prime Minister to consider acquiring more trustworthy allies as he assumes his duties.

''The country was expectant, but they still chickened out. No event in the history of the NASA coalition has attracted local and international attention of that magnitude. What other events could they still be waiting for? With that I still maintain that the Right Honourable Raila Odinga should cast his political net wider to catch new allies,'' he is further quoted.
