On Thursday a rumored political union between Kenya African National Union (KANU) and the Jubilee Party was confirmed after the independence party threw its weight behind the re-election, President Uhuru Kenyatta.
On Friday, political pundit Gabriel Muthuma alleged that KANU is not coming in to support Jubilee Party but Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election alone.
"We have to be very clear, that KANU is supporting the re-election Uhuru, not Jubilee. They are fielding candidates in every other elective seat," he said.
KANU has for long been flirting with the opposition before the Thursday declaration.
The claims by Mr Muthuma may, however, not rest well with Deputy President William Ruto who has repeatedly stated that there will be no "Madoa doa" votes in Rift Valley its either Jubilee or no seat.
Reliable sources have even reported that DP Ruto has fronted a candidate to challenge Gideon Moi's senatorial seat.
