When she decided to get out of the ODM party citing frustrations from her boss, Mombasa deputy governor Hazel Katana also claimed that she was not receiving her salaries for some months.
The County government came out to clear the air over the same and admitted that Katana had not been receiving her salary for months owing to unrecovered salary advance and unsurrendered imprest.
The County Director of Communication Richard Chacha said she could account for the imprest given to her through foreign travel.
"Katana should speak the truth. She should tell you why she has not been receiving her salary because it was being deducted to recover money advanced to her," said Chacha.
However, Chacha could not reveal the exact figure of the money that had been advanced to Katana.
Governor Ali Joho and his deputy have been on a collision path, since assuming office.
She accused her boss of being a 'bully' when she decided to walk out of their political marriage and challenge for the County senatorial seat on a Jubilee party.
