Kenyans waited for the 2018 Fifa World Cup with bated breath. However, some have been met with disappointment as they cannot watch certain matches on their screens without subscriptions.
Unlike the previous years when Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) aired all the matches of the World Cup, the station is not airing the 2018 games in Russia.
On Tuesday, the public broadcaster finally explained why it was not airing the FIFA World Cup 2018.
Speaking during a press conference, KBC heads said they were asked to pay unrealistic amounts of money to broadcast all the 64 matches.
A section of the public has been depending on NTV to follow the games.
However, the fans have been frustrated by the fact that the Aga Khan-owned station was only showing 32 matches.
So far, 14 matches have been played.
