A new report released by the UNWTO Tourism Barometer has revealed that international tourist arrivals to Kenya rose 10 per cent to 723,000 visitors between January and September.
The rise has been attributed to the rise of international airlines arriving at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Moi International Airport in Mombasa between June and August.
The surge in visitor numbers was also as a result of increased visits to Maasai Mara Game Reserve for the annual spectacle of wildebeest migration.
The report further shows that destinations worldwide received a total of 1,127 million international tourist arrivals the first 10 months of the year,
Results were driven by sustained growth in many destinations and a firm recovery in places that experienced a decline last year.
