Garissa Township Member of Parliament Aden Duale has received criticism from netizens following one of his posts on social media.
The MP on Friday posted a photo of Kenya Power staff connecting electricity to a manyatta in Garissa Township constituency.
In the post, Duale lauded the Jubilee government for launching the Last Mile Connectivity programme aimed at connecting more Kenyans to power.
"The Jubilee Government Programme of access to electricity for all Kenyans regardless of their social status is a demonstration of building an equitable society.This a homestead in Baraka village near Korakora Divisional Headquarters, Garissa Township Constituency.....Thanks to the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto for investing and opening up Northern Kenya to development," read Duale's Facebook post in part.

Facebook users expressed mixed reactions over the programme, majority of them arguing that it is not a priority for the locals.

"Uuuuiiii...does the person need good shelter or electricity??? Imagine it's a rainy season??? You are risking other peoples lives," posted Anto Wanjos.
"You call this development? You are endangering the lives of this poor Kenyan bwana," wrote Oceani Kibet.
"This is the epitome of misplaced priority. Aden Duale you should be ashamed of yourself for showing us this gargantuan ineptitude of the government of the day," said McAyodo Mark.
"Muganda Nicheke ninenepe!!!!!!!!!!!!! That person needs a house, not electricity. Are you out of your mind. But I understand your stand," wrote Collo Mbuyu.
"Do you think those guys who live in such houses have something to eat?? Give people food they can't eat light," posted Joze Mukubio.
"Instead of investing in decent livelihood for the community in a way to promote dignified life you pose danger to these innocent citizens," wrote Scientist Ishmael.
"Purely misplaced priorities. How can this help the unstaffed schools in northeastern Kenya???? Impassible roads during rainy seasons? Come out and do something tangible," said Injury G Wak's.
"People don't have good shelter HE Aden Duale. Provide affordable, decent and humane housing for your people then you can talk about electricity and other stuff," posted Hùškă Mâãłīmś.
