President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday named his full Cabinet amid the political rhetoric currently being witnessed in the country. The full list comprises of men and women set to serve all Kenyans irrespective of tribe, gender, region and social status.

The Jubilee government in the past has been accused of excluding other regions from selective positions and have been receiving calls to incorporate such people into the government.

However, it should be noted that the slots to be filled are few and not everybody can be incorporated as Kenyans so wish. In the 2010 Constitution in fact, the slots offered do not exceed 22 and it is impossible to have every person serving in Cabinet.

Already, some Kenyans feel dissatisfied with the Cabinet nominees and have started linking those named to the areas they come from. This is wrong as the Cabinet slots are not awarded in relation to tribe or regional roots.

As Jubilee seeks to execute more responsibilities in its second term, Kenyans should hold the president to these group of people he sets to work with. In case of any failure in any ministry, Kenyans should demand for answers from Mr Kenyatta as his selection relied on expertise and experience.

The nominees are set to be vetted by various Parliamentary committees and then confirmed by the National Assembly. Those selected should know that they serve all Kenyans irrespective of where they come from or from what tribe they belong to. In case of any failure, Kenyans will hold the whole government to blame.
