Roba wants Kenyans to ignore propaganda allegedly being propagated in regards to the Uhuru-Raila famous handshake.

Speaking to journalists at his Mandera office on Tuesday, Roba said that Uhuru-Raila’s handshake was in the interest of Kenyans and not politicians.

The governor claimed that some politicians are working hard to scuttle the push to unite and reconcile the country.

“I urge Kenyans to remain firm and reject politicians who want to scuttle the push for unity and reconciliation in the country,” he said as quoted by a local daily.

Governor Roba said that it is time politicians knew that this country belongs to Kenyans.

He said that the country has suffered as a result of the prolonged post-election period, adding that is time to move on.

The Jubilee governor asked President Kenyatta and Raila not to listen to critics questioning their handshake and instead go on with their reconciliation plans.

There have been questions on whether Uhuru- Raila’s handshake was genuine especially after the second deportation of Canadian based lawyer Miguna Miguna.

A section of politicians allied to the opposition has been asking Raila to denounce the handshake.

According to sources, President Kenyatta and Raila are expected to roll out their unity and reconciliation plans before the end of this week.
