Alfred Keter has risen in his political career smoothly until recently when he decided to hold the "elephant's task."
It's in the 12th parliament that the Nandi Hills "legislator" was on the rise when he broke his silence about the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) project.
This appears to be the origin of "things falling apart" in his political journey. That is the same season that Keter and the nominated MP Birdi were involved in the Gilgil weigh-bridge drama.
Recently, the legislator hasn't relaxed since, in the 2017 August polls, he was among the team that threatened to lead a rebellion in the Rift-Valley during the Jubilee party primaries. This seemed to re-ignite his fallback as he in the past weeks was stripped parliamentary committee chair position, accused of forged treasury bills and now his election nullified.
Keter has his future at a balance since he appears to have 'red blood' with the Deputy President William Ruto. If he attempts to leave the Jubilee Party, he may not regain the seat.
As perceived that he is pro-Senator Gideon Moi, this may further sink his dream. If Senator Moi steps in the expected Nandi Hills by-elections to campaign for him, he may face it rough.
To my view, Keter should play his cards well on this task ahead of him with total concerns, of which, if he survives he will make a "Regional King" after DP Ruto.
