According to Muthama and other leaders from the region, Kibwana’s party is confusing the electorate as the next general election draws closer.

Kibwana has affirmed that he will back former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka if he is chosen the flag bearer of the National Super Alliance (NASA).

Kalonzo’s political house has various issues that are likely to stand between Kibwana and his seat come 2017. The party has witnessed the highest number of defections that any other party in the nation. It is not easy for a man to bring down his “small but peaceful house” and relocate to an ever-troubled mansion.

On the other hand, there are aspirants who want to unseat him using Wiper tickets. Folding his party means that he will be forced to battle it out with other candidates during nominations.

Just like Governor Alfred Mutua did when he formed his political outfit Maendeleo Chap Chap, Kibwana also wants to retain his house where he can sit and ponder over his tribulations in case anything goes wrong.

Furthermore, Kibwana is not the only member of Muungano Party. There are other aspirants on the grounds who believe that they have the support of the people but Wiper cannot allow them to contest because of the stiff competition that is likely to lock them out during primaries. All these factors make Kibwana to think twice.
