Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago is an admired man in Kisumu County.
Despite Kisumu being perceived as an opposition stronghold, the locals find the vocal Jubilee Governor an admirable owing to his good work in Uasin Gishu.
The locals say they are pleased by the Governors effort to clear shoddy structures out of Eldoret town.
According to the residents, Kisumu Town faces the problem of shoddy structures having being developed along the road and want Mandago to come in and pull down the structures.
"We want Mandago to be our governor for one week, or have him in loan to bring this town to order," Vincent Kamala opined.
Bodaboda operators noted that it is very difficult for them to manoeuvre around certain areas in the town citing Kibuye Market and the buildings adjacent to Maseno University as the most afected.
“Navigating along Kibuye market is a headache because of increased shoddy structures along the road that has left little space for road users. We spend a lot of time on very short distances because the shoddy structures are creating a lot of jam,” Wycliff Ondiek said.
The locals now want their governor to bench mark their neighbors from the Rift Valley and implement the same.
“Kisumu town used to be very beautiful before we started setting up shoddy structures that leaves the town in a disorganized manner,"Joseph Odouri noted.
