It is very unfortunate that the Knut Garissa branch secretary Abdirizak Hussein is calling for immediate release of non-local teachers from the region.
According to Abdirazak, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) should employ form four leavers to take teaching positions left by non-locals fleeing the area.
Going by this idea, it will now mean that education in the region will get too localized since there will be not a single outside world coming to the area.
There will be a monopoly of local ideas that students are overused to thus creating minimal impact as far as the national outlook is concerned.
Incidentally, Abdirazak's idea may trigger other professionals like doctors and nurses or even policemen to call for localization of services, demanding that locals should just work in the volatile region.
With this, I wonder if the region will have sufficient locals to take the slots that will have been created by fleeing professionals.
Accordingly, the teacher's employer should just liaise with the security institutions to heighten security in social institutions instead of calling for a mass transfer of services.
