It is high time veteran Nakuru politician Koigi wa Wamwere ended his political friendship with opposition leader Raila Odinga, in favour of his future political ambitions.

Likely to vie for a post within Nakuru county should he decide to take another stab at elective politics in the future, the leader is most likely to lose, considering that Odinga is a hard sell in the region.

Therefore, failing to drop the 'Odinga ally' tag he currently holds, following his move from the Jubilee Party after losing in the August 8 nominations for the Nakuru senatorial contest, will result to a worse defeat in the future.

By dropping the veteran leader, Koigi will also avail himself for possible nominations into state bodies, judging by his vast experience, a position that will help him regain his relevance in preparation for future contests.

By reverting to the President Uhuru Kenyatta's side, he will come out of the outcast-like zone he currently is in, being among the few leaders from the area backing the National Super Alliance (NASA) chief.

This will once again make him acceptable, making him the leader the people once elected to represent Subukia constituency in parliament, as currently, he is observed as an anti-governemt campaigner in a government zone.

Lastly, Wamwere broke his Chama Cha Mwananchi party to join the bigger Jubilee Party before the concluded election period and should not run away because of his loss, but stick around and make demands from within as a shareholder.
