Speaking in Kiambu on Sunday, Kuria argued that the former Gatanga MP has not defended President Uhuru Kenyatta's administration enough, further challenging Nairobi residents not to vote Kenneth because of his skin color.

"The other individual has never even fought for the President's government. Let no one come from wherever and think that [he] can take us for a ride," Kuria said in a clear reference to Peter Kenneth.

Kenneth officially declared his interest for Nairobi's top seat, vowing to dethrone ODM's Evans Kidero who will be defending his seat in the August polls.

Kenneth is set to vie on an already crowded Jubilee Party ticket, where he will battle it out in the party primaries with Nairobi Senator Mike (Sonko) Mbuvi, Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru, Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja and former Starehe MP Margaret Wanjiru.
