Bungoma ODM governor aspirant Alfred Khang’ati has asked the Luhya community to rally behind the National Super Alliance (NASA) ahead of August general elections. Khang’ati said the positions given to the two NASA Luhya principals Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula will be influential once the opposition forms the government.“We are asking Wetang’ula and Mudavadi to lead Luhyas and ensure they deliver in those positions so that Luhyas might endorse them for bigger posts in the 2022 polls,” Khang’ati said over the weekend during a function in Tongaren, Bungoma county. The former Kudanyi MP urged the community to remain loyal, united and support the Opposition coalition’s decision to have ODM leader Raila Odinga as the flagbearer. He stated that the former Prime Minister will have to pass the mantle to one of the two Luhya principals after he finishes his single term in 2022.“I know Weta is a big fighter and will ensure Luhyas have a big say in that government,” Khang’ati added.Should the NASA form the next government in August, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi is proposed to be Premier Cabinet Secretary deputised by Moses Wetang'ula (Ford Kenya) and Isaac Ruto (CCM).Wetang'ula will be in charge of Public Service, while Ruto will be in charge of the State Department of Devolution and Planning.
