The residents said Ndeti could lose again if she contests against Mutua in the by-election.

Residents who took to social media platforms to share their opinion said Muthama has more political strength than Ndeti.

Here are some of the reactions shared on the Kamba Political Forum, Machakos Forum, and Ukambani News Forum immediately the Court of Appeal nullified Mutua’s election last Friday.

Shem Kilonzo said, “It is good news for Wiper but they will still lose if Ndeti is the candidate, why not pick Muthama to face Mutua?

Simon Ndolo said, “Wavinya Ndeti will still lose in case of a by-election, she does not have the numbers.

“Muthama is the best to face off with Mutua in by-election, @Kalonzo Musyoka, consider this option,” Stella Kathiani said.

Geoffrey Mutuku said, “Mutua headed for big win in a by-election, Wavinya Ndeti should consider stepping down for Muthama or even SKM.”

However, the majority of residents think that Wavinya Ndeti will floor Mutua in case of a by-election.

The residents claim that Mutua has been a disappointment and deserves no mercy on the ballot.

Mercy Mutheu said, “Waiting for mama’s signal, Mutua home, mama fresh.”

Sylvester Ndunda said, “We are mama fresh, tano fresh, Mutua bye-bye.”

The resident’s said that Mutua’s appeal in the Supreme Court might not save him.

Mutua’s election was nullified by the Supreme Court on grounds that it was not free and fair.

Court of appeal judge William Ouko said that the IEBC results for the governor seat could not be verified and lacked constitutional test.

The court ordered the polls agency to conduct a fresh gubernatorial poll in conformity with the law.

Mutua has since appealed the ruling in Supreme Court even as political commentators observe that his political career hangs in the balance.

On Tuesday, the Machakos Assembly passed a motion to impeach Mutua.
