When Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua announced that he was forming a new political outfit under the name Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement (MCC), many thought he was day-dreaming.
The high number of leaders defecting to the Mutua-led party reminds us of the words of our sister from the Lakeside, Lupita Nyong’o who said all dreams are valid.
Looking at the current political situation in the county and entire nation, you can easily see that MCC has become the comfort zone of most politicians. In less than a week, two powerful politicians have declared their willingness to join Mutua in his quest to change the leadership of this country.
The entry of Meru gubernatorial aspirant Kilemi Mwiria and Embu Gubernatorial aspirant Lenny Kivuti in MCC leaves Wiper Leader Stephen Kalonzo and other leaders in his party bitter men.
The rate at which MCC is growing makes other leaders have sleepless nights. Just like River Nile, more tributaries are joining MCC.
It is just a matter of time for MCC to become the next big name in terms of political parties in Ukambani and the rest of the nation.
With the likes of Kilemi, who is among the most learned leaders in the nation joining Mutua, it is clear that the future of the party is bright.
