It has now emerged that security agencies did not have enough time to clear Uhuru Highway when visiting Tanzanian President John Magufuli used the route on his way to parliament buildings.
Reports indicate that Magufuli arrived early for the laying of a wreath at Jomo Kenyatta mausoleum, hence being caught in traffic.
On Monday morning, Magufuli was forced to walk to the mausoleum following the traffic snarl up.
According to Nation, staff at parliament were caught unaware following his early arrival.
The Tanzanian is in the country for a two-day state visit where he is expected to hold bilateral talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta at the same time drumming up support for Foreign CS Amina Mohammed's bid for AU chair.
