Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i, Inspector General of the Police Joseph Boinnet and Immigration Boss Gordon Kihalangwa may not appear before Justice George Odunga for sentencing for contempt of court after failing to present self-proclaimed NRM general Miguna Miguna.
The security officials will be accompanying President Uhuru Kenyatta to the ongoing General Service Unit pass out.
Confirming the pass out through twitter account, the director of Digital Communication at the office of the president Dennis Ole Itumbi ‘whispered’ to Justice Odunga about the ongoing pass out.
“A tweet whisper to justice Odunga- GSU pass out ongoing,” posted Itumbi.
He also condemned the ruling saying that CS Matiang’i and IG Bonnet are just upholding immigration laws adding that Justice Odunga ruled in favor of Siaya county Senator James Orengo because he is Orengo’s nephew.
“Justice Odunga holds @FredMatiangi and IG @JBoinet in contempt for what reason? For upholding immigration laws? For ensuring that we are not a banana republic that you walk into as you wish? Why? But we all know Odunga is Hon. Orengo’s nephew. Fact,” said Mr. Itumbi through his twitter handle.
However, Justice Odunga ruled that he will proceed to sentence the three leaders in their absence if they fail to appear before him in person at 10 am.
