Interior security Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi's is expected to receive close to Sh8 billion in his docket ahead of the October 26 repeat polls.
According to the mini-budget for the elections submitted by the Treasury to the National Assembly for consideration, the National Intelligence Service(NIS) is expected to receive Sh3.2 billion while the National Police Service has been allocated Sh4.6 billion making the money given to the security docket rise to Sh8 billion.
The Treasury said the money will be used to enhance security operations, before, during and after the repeat polls.
This means that the Kenyan taxpayer has spent Sh68 billion in conducting the August 8 polls and the October repeat polls.
