The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE examinations ended well.
There were almost zero cases of exams irregularities reported across the country.
The same was the case with the Kenya certificate of primary education, KCPE examinations.
Clearly, education cabinet secretary Fred Matiang'i's rules have worked. This is why I recommend him to be the chairperson of independent electoral and boundary commission, IEBC.
The selection panel responsible for appointing IEBC chairperson and commissioners should look no further for the position of the chairperson. They should appoint Matiang'i to bring sanity to the electoral body whose image has been dented with accusations of vote rigging.
Matiang'i will seal all the loopholes and deliver for Kenyans a free and fair election just like he has done with the 2016 KCPE and KCSE national examinations.
He has proved, beyond reasonable doubt that it is possible to have a plain playing field. He has proved that cheating can be curbed. He fits the bill.
