MCAs are praying really hard for Muranga Senator Irungu Kangata in his latest legislative push to have them control 15 million shillings each annually.
The Jubilee Chief Whip in the Senate has already drafted a bill that will entrench a 28 billion shillings development fund for all wards into law.
Senator Kangata has already written a proposal to the Senate's speaker Kenneth Lusaka in in which he says will be similar to the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
The money, should the bill become law, will be funneled into the development of rural roads, installation of street lights, among other things.
''The bill if it becomes law will give MCAs functional independence that will assist them oversight the county leadership better without fear of their electoral areas being victimised.'' Kangata argued.
