VERY!The prostate is the gland which produces semen and disorders affecting it are common in many men over 50. When the prostate is enlarged, it can lead to cause frequent and painful urination. Prostate cancer is also the third most common cancer in American males according to indy100.com.To address the problem, diet, exercising and regular check-ups are the most effective way to keep the prostate healthy. But, a new, much more enjoyable method discovered by researchers at Harvard University will bring much joy to men and probably give spouses more reason to let men have their way with them in the bedroom. The European Urology journal suggests that high sexual activity levels can reduce the risk of contracting prostate cancer. This is after a study which observed the sexual habits of 32,000 men.The study concluded that those with a higher rate of ejaculation were less likely to have prostate tumours.“We found that men reporting higher compared to lower ejaculatory frequency in adulthood were less likely to be subsequently diagnosed with prostate cancer. This large prospective study provides the strongest evidence to date of a beneficial role of ejaculation in the prevention of prostate cancer,” the study author states. The panel of researchers believes that ejaculating 21 times a month should give some relief to men enabling them to protect themselves from prostate cancer. Men who ejaculated at least 21 times a month had a 33% lower risk of prostate cancer than those that didn't.Why ejaculating helps the prostate has not quite been determined but scientists speculate that it may help flush toxins out of the system. However, men should note that ejaculation alone will not entirely save the prostate and experts say that obesity, tobacco, high-fat processed food and heredity are also factors that will lead to prostate cancer so there is need to cut those out.Dr James Balch says a good diet is a positive thing to aspire towards when protecting one's prostate.Tomatoes, organic coffee, plant-based fats, exercise and no smoking will also help prevent prostate cancer according to the publication.
