Vocal lawyer Miguna Miguna has continued with his onslaught on President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto over the recent Cabinet appointments.
In a Twitter post on Tuesday, Miguna hit out at the Jubilee duo accusing them of perpetrating ethnic politics.
Miguna termed the Jubilee administration as an “illegitimate ethnic chauvinistic regime” that has imposed itself on Kenyans.
The self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general, who was last week deported to Canada, called for the removal of Uhuru and Ruto from power, arguing that a section of the recently nominated Principal Secretaries (PSs) were allegedly picked on tribal basis.
“The despotic duo @UKenyatta and @WilliamsRuto stole the 2017 elections and imposed themselves in power through brute force. They have implemented an ILLEGITIMATE ETHNIC CHAUVINISTIC regime evidenced by these names. We must REMOVE them from power,” read Miguna’s tweet.
The 12 Permanent Secretaries whose appointments Miguna claims were ethnically motivated are:
Public Service – Andrew Ng’ang’a
Water – Joseph Irungu
Housing and Urban Development – Charles Mwaura
Energy – Joseph Njoroge
Lands – Nicholas Muraguri
Interior – Karanja Kibicho
Foreign Affairs – Amb Macharia Kamau
Industrialisation – Betty Maina
Treasury – Kamau Thugge
Sport – Peter Kaberia
Maritime and Shipping – Nancy Kariguthi
Transport – Paul Maringa
President Uhuru named 31 Principal Secretaries in his Cabinet appointments last month.
The Head of State nominated three more PSs to his government last week. Their names were forwarded to the Speaker of the National Assembly Justine Muturi on Friday, February 9 for vetting and approval.
