Kesses Member of Parliament Dr. Swarrup Mishra is among a government delegation that is currently in Geneva, Switzerland to attend the ongoing World Health Assembly.
Mishra accompanied the delegation on the virtue of him being the Deputy Chairman in the National Assembly Committee on Health.
Through a post on his official Facebook page on Monday, Mishra, a medical practitioner and proprietor of the Mediheal Group of Hospitals that has branches spread across East Africa said: “We will be seeking to sell the Universal Health Care idea to potential partners in the six-day event.”
The Assembly commenced on Monday and is scheduled to go on up to the end of this week.
“President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big Four agenda, Universal Health Care (UHC) will be Kenya’s highlight in this event,” posted the first-time MP.
“In addition, Kenya has also been given the role of representing the African group in discussions regarding Maternal, infant and young child nutrition,” he added.
Several other top government officials led by the Health Cabinet Secretary Cecily Kariuki and several governors among them Baringo’s Stanly Kiptis are attending the event.
