Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho on Monday kept off Cord’s weekly anti-IEBC demonstrations and instead focused on development projects in the county.
In his speech during the official launch of six modern ambulances and other medical equipment at Junda Dispensary in Kisauni Sub-County, the governor avoided political talk in respect for the Holy Month of Ramadhan.
"I have started fasting today therefore I will not talk much. I will stick to the issue that brought us here,” said Joho.
Joho who is the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader at the Coast, lauded the county for the strides it has made in devolution.
This comes after Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar demanded an audit of the money spent on development projects in the county.
The governor was accompanied by Kisauni MP Rashid Bedzimba.
Business in the Coastal town went on as usual after the protests failed to take place.
