The County Government of Mombasa has informed residents in North Coast and Island areas that there is interruption of supply of water.
A communication issued on Wednesday, said the hitch is as result of a technical breakdown at the Baricho main pump station, that has been caused by extensive power fluctuation resulting into unprecedented fire at the power plant.
"The fire has been contained and KPLC together with Coast Water Services Board personnel are undertaking repair works of the affected section to ensure restoration and normalcy in pumping resumes," read a communication by the Sub County Administration team.
Consequently, the County government said normal water pumping from Baricho had been affected and supply in areas including Kiembeni, Kisauni, Bamburi, Shanzu, Bombolulu, Kisimani, VOK, Nyali, Mishomoroni and northern parts of island.
"We sincerely apologize for the inconveniences caused. Normal water supply shall resume as soon as the situation is normalized."
