Consequently, the county has received additional security officers ahead of the upcoming August 8 general election to boost security.Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa has listed the county among the hotspots for election violence, The Star has reported.This has necessitated the additional officers to boost security during campaigns, before and after the forthcoming elections.On his part, Lamu police commander Muchangi Kioi said they have received enough security officers who have been deployed across the region to maintain peace and order before, during and after the elections.Kioi made the remarks when he addressed security officers and the public at Mwana Arafa Hotel in Lamu on Monday.
