Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has faulted the closure of Botana Primary School in his constituency after some of the toilets sunk early this week.

The MP’s response comes after Nyamira County health officers on Thursday visited the school and closed down the school indefinitely until the new toilets for girls are constructed.

Bosire claimed the school management had not approached him for help regarding the construction of new toilets.

“There is no way I cannot assist schools that are in my constituency. I have already allocated CDF funds to the school. I am not happy with health officers’ decision to close down the school because there are toilet facilities for the boys which they could have partitioned for the girls to use as the school management works on getting new toilets for the girls in place," said the ODM national treasurer.

“I have now sent my officers to the school to do an assessment and ensure the construction of the new toilets is completed as soon as possible,” he added.

Bosire was speaking on Thursday evening on Egesa FM where he also promised to use the CDF funds to construct new toilets and ensure learning resumes.
