Opposition leader Raila Odinga should be arrested and charged with incitement to violence, a lobby has said.
Mount Kenya Youth Caucus accused Raila of inciting his supporters to cause violence in Nairobi that had left many business people counting loses.
Group chairman Linford Mutembei alleged Opposition supporters burned a commuter bus and a police truck during a rally to welcome their leader from the United States.
He also said the Opposition leaders should compensate the affected people since they failed to contain their backers.
"NASA leaders organised the rally, and they had the responsibility of ensuring the procession was peaceful but they did not. They should be compelled to pay for the losses incurred," he said on Sunday, speaking in Kiambu town.
Mutembei urged victims to report to the police the culprits for prosecution.
"The government needs to crack down on all those fanning violence for peace to prevail in the country," he added.
